Retro Ping Pong is a modern homage to the 1972 Atari, Inc. arcade game Pong. With the assistance of Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell, Allan Alcorn developed Pong, one of the earliest video games, which contributed to the development of the video game industry. Retro Ping Pong perfectly captures the essence of this timeless game with its minimalist design and straightforward yet captivating gameplay, while incorporating new elements to keep you interested.
The goal of Retro Ping Pong is simple: you control a paddle to hit a ball past your opponent's paddle and score points. The first one to score seven points wins. You'll face off against an AI opponent in single-player mode, with difficulty ranging from Rookie (easiest) to Ace (hardest). You'll compete against each other on the same device in two-player mode. The W and S keys control the left paddle, while the up and down arrow keys control the right paddle.
The original Pong experience is retained in Classic Mode. The rules are simple: try to outplay your opponent by hitting the ball back and forth. The last player to score will receive the ball, and the game will judge your accuracy and speed. For casual players or those looking for a pure, nostalgic experience, this mode is perfect.
Classic Pong is enhanced from its classic roots with the innovative changes of Action Mode. Each round has a different set of rules, making things more interesting and challenging. Some examples include:
Both Pong beginners and experienced players will find these variations fun and keep the game interesting.
